Who is responsible
Clippify ZA is the responsible party (data controller) under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). You can reach our Information Officer via the contact page.
What we collect
Account basics: your name, email, phone number, and South African ID or passport number where required for payout verification. Payment details: your bank account or PayShap handle, stored encrypted. Activity: campaigns you launch, clips you post, view counts, payouts, and platform messages. Device data: IP address, browser type, and rough location to detect fraud.
Why we collect it
To run the marketplace, verify identity for payouts, detect fraud and viewbots, comply with South African financial regulations, and improve the platform. We never sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Our payment processor (for EFT/PayShap payouts), our cloud infrastructure provider (data stored in the EU/US with adequate POPIA-aligned protections), and South African authorities where required by law. We share no data with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Active accounts: as long as the account is open. Closed accounts: financial records retained for 5 years to comply with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA). All other personal data is deleted within 90 days of account closure on request.
Your POPIA rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information at any time. You may also object to processing or withdraw consent. Email our Information Officer through the contact page — we respond within 30 days.
How we keep your data safe
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to vetted staff with two-factor authentication. We log every access. We notify you within 72 hours if a breach affects your personal information.
Children
Clippify ZA is not for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.
